8 & Under Program

The 8U Program was began in 2008 as an opportunity for teams to begin experiencing tournament level and competitive softball at an earlier age to increase their experience and the transition that 10U softball brings on. Several states in Region 5 offered not only qualifying tournaments, but State Level Championship tournaments. Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Iowa each offered a tournament for teams to be able to earn a State Championship. 2008 also saw the creation of the "C" Midwest Championships and with it a regional type Championship Event for 8U teams. This event was attended by over 130 teams from five states.
